… Or not that much! I’m not that much into playing jazz music. Not that I don’t want to. As a lot of people (and guitarists) I do like jazz and listen to a lot of it. To be honest, I even sometimes dream that I play with the fluid touch of Pat Metheny, the melodic feeling of Larry Carlton or the wild tone of Dave Fuze Fiuczynski!! And then I wake up and play some power-chords or some funky riffs.
Funnily enough, from time to time I like to let my fingers run on the fretboard to the sound of a jazzy backing track… I think that’s a way to believe that one day I’ll be able to play jazz. When I saw this backing track on Guitare Live, I jumped on the guitar to jam a little bit. I took the William’son Red Bee (yeah the one that is the prize of the summer Giveaway if you didn’t get the information yet!) to improvise a little. Just to check if I could get some jazzy tones from it. And also to publish this pun title that I’m very proud of… I admit it!
I’ll let you make your mind but I think this mini-humbuckers pickups configuration (middle/neck and tone set on 2-3) works nicely on such music, though the tone pot only acts on the neck pickup. I think this will be better with a heavier string gauge… And a little bit more knowledge about jazz guitar. And actually, I’m goin’ to jam some more…
