It’s All About Guitar Round-up #11

A few links for the weekend : gear news, demos, reviews, websites, and fun… Things that I could have blogged, things that went under my radar !! Enjoy…

The Giveaway of the Week

Yet another week of gear giveaways on G.A.S. a GoGo… And the killer competition of the week is the Roland contest with every single Boss product from the 2011 catalogue to win by one lucky entrant! Man I so wish I could see that package…

Learning Guitar Involves Making Mistakes

I couldn’t agree more the words of guitarist/journalist/I Heart Guitar blogger Peter Hodgson in this column he wrote for Guitar World.

Percussion Guitar according to Jasperbridge

Gerry from the blog Guitarless got back to blogging which is cool because I liked his blog…

Here is a nice catch with the Jasperbridge percussion guitar. The inventor of this guitar wanted to be able to play guitar with a drumstick. Hence this weird setting that is supposed to be more comfortable than a standard guitar for that purpose… Some people are really inventive in a funny kind of way!!

Confessions of a Noobie Electronic Tinkerer

Stephen from the blog Lone Phantom wrote this cool post for those who would like to start a DIY guitarry project but are afraid to screw things up. The post is so cool that it made me want to start a new DIY project which I didn’t for maybe 4 or 5 years now!!

A “New” Sly Stone Album with Guests…

… And what guests!! Jeff Beck, Johnny Winter, Ray Manzarek, Bootsy Collins among others… Ok, I’m a big fan of Sly Stone! Too bad the songs are reworkings of old songs rather than new songs but I’ll get my hand on this album anyway…

Here is an excerpt from Higher with Jeff Beck pulling out the wha (via Music Radar)…SLY STONE – I Want to Take You Higher (Feat. Jeff Beck) by Cleopatra Records

Steve Morse Presents his Signature Guitars

And what guitars!! Cool, and extensive présentation…

That’s all for the 11th edition of the It’s All About Guitar Round-up segment… See ya later!
