NAMM 2010 Radar: Gretsch Booth

I don’t know if Gretsch Guitars will unveil this at the upcoming NAMM show, but I’d be surprised that they don’t. Anyway, Gretsch announced two great guitars for 2010: the Eddie Cochran Tribute Model and the Tim Armstrong Signature.

Gretsch Limited Edition Eddie Cochran Tribute Custom Shop

This is a modified Gretsch G6120 replicated from Eddie Cochran‘s original guitar. Among the Rock’n’Roll / Rockabilly pionneers I always had a thing about Eddie Cochran’s music, and I am pretty sure that his awesome looking guitar is partly responsible for that matter. I’m kind of curious about how this pickups setting would sound (Seymour Duncan DynaSonic single-coil at the bridge, and Seymour Duncan Dog Ear single-coil at the neck). Unfortunately, I am fairly certain that I will never have the opportunity to put my hands on one of the 50 copies that will be released world wide. The price announced: $12000. I told you that it was a limited edition…

Gretsch Tim Armstrong Signature

Tim Armstrong from Rancid punk rock band will now have his signature model from Gretsch. The model is a G5191 Electromatic hollowbody that will come in flat black finish with Filter’Tron pickups. Damn this guitar is a bomb… a Time Bomb? Price announced: $1250.
