The Art of Cover Songs (Breed – Nirvana – 20th Anniversary of Nevermind Competition)

I was struggling on Guitar Fail which was under attack today (problem seems to be solved now, fingers crossed) when I had a break to read a comment on my gear giveaways blog G.A.S. a GoGo. The comment was on a post about a French contest : Nirvana – 20th anniversary of Nevermind.

A reader wrote that as he found out about the contest on G.A.S. a GoGo which incited him to participate, I had to listen to his cover, and then suffer!! I’ll checked it… And I love it!! This my friends is what I call : People who understand the art of cover songs !

Here is the cover of Breed (Nirvana) with an acoustic bass, a mandolin, a cajon, and three voices. I think it’s excellent… It’s funny… It’s catchy… It’s just great to listen to! It’s way better than just covering it the Nirvana way…

Among the other entrants, I also liked Dirty Spleen cover of Smells Like Teen Spirit though it takes time to gain in intensity.
