The Best Guitar of 2011 : VGS Radioactive Tommy Denander Signature

This year I had the chance to try a lot of guitars via my gear reviewer gig for French website I was supposed to publish an alternate version of each review here on Muzicosphere but somewhere on that path, I got lost.  Plus, I thought it was pointless to add more noise to the internets background noise!

Well, ok… You will say that my sample is not big enough to pretend that I know for sure which guitar is the best guitar made in 2011 (check the list at the end of this post)! Let’s pretend I can! I did not count the Line 6 James Tyler Variax in the pool because  I think it is a very special guitar that can’t be compared to other guitars.

So, the winner of my very personal 2011 best guitar award is the VGS Radioactive Tommy Denander Signature for 2 main reasons:

  • Innovation : It is equipped with the Evertune bridge that guarantees a stable tuning of the guitar! That is an impressive system. You can play it as hard as you can, and the tuning remains the same!
  • Intonation : it has compensated frets… It was the first time I’ve played with a compensated frets guitar, and since then I kept wondering why we don’t find more guitars fretted that way?

I reckon this guitar is not exactly made for me as I am not an active pickups guy. However this was the most comfortable, and versatile guitar I’ve ever played. It is actually the kind of guitar that you grab, and makes you pull your best licks ever (well this you can’t actually hear it in my video as I always do my best to keep my video reviews simple).

I am curious to hear about your favorite guitar in 2011? Speak your minds in the comments section below.
