Highlight on La Chaîne Guitare

Ain’t no secret: I love the Internet. I love it because of the encounters that it allows with people you might never heard about otherwise. Last week I met Pierre Journel, a French podcaster who runs the La Chaîne Guitare (The Guitar Channel), whom I first heard about via the JC Frog blog

Since then, we regularly shared tips and chats about guitar mainly via twitter, and I became a fan of his podcast on which Pierre is quite active as he interviewed several guitarists like Tommy Emmanuel, bassists and guitar makers.

Pierre aims to cover the guitar world on every interesting aspects via his podcast and his deep sounding voice… Guys, beware!! If you plan to listen to the podcast, do it when the wife is out, otherwise you might have some issues to deal with!!

We spent a whole afternoon drinking coffees and talking about his past experience in Canada where he lived for 11 years and started to podcast on le PCC podcast. And of course we discussed a lot about our enthusiasm for guitar!! I had a close look on his 3 wonderful PRS guitars and a few other axes from his collection. I particularly liked his Godin Acousticaster that he brought from Quebec.

Pierre likes his Zoom H2 so much, that he always have it close, so that he is always ready to press record… That’s what he did last week. So he decided to make an interview of me… Man! Imagine that… I’ve been interviewed on the same podcast than Tommy Emmanuel!

Well, if you do understand French, you will know a lil’ bit more about my first guitar, its effects on my fingers, my lack of band playing, my enthusiasm for Prince music, my conception about why hitting approximately the right note on a lapsteel is the game, my ultimate musical fantasy…

I’ll let you know when the podcast is on… And until then, go check La Chaîne Guitare for the 19 episodes already available.
